Baby and Postnatal Yoga in Norwich

Baby and Postnatal, or Mum and Baby Yoga, is a wonderful way to spend your time on maternity leave. A yoga class that is beneficial for both mother and baby! Becoming a mother, or matrescence, is a profound physical, pyscological and emotional transition. So being in an environment that supports the mother is very valuable.

These postnatal yoga classes can help mums with recovery postpartum such as diastasis recti (abdominal separation), recovery of the pelvic floor, exhaustion, mental health, anxiety, muscle aches and pains. Shoulder and neck are common areas of discomfort which we address!

Babies also get a lot from the classes. Clothes on baby massage, stretches, a rested and soothed muma too! We sings songs and rhymes to engage baby and to help with remembering the movements!

Here's what you can expect:

  • Chance to connect with others and air motherhood concerns
  • Time to "tune in" to your body and your baby
  • Gentle warm ups to ease out tensions from the week
  • Moving your body in ways to stretch out tensions and strengthen your body postpartum
  • Massage and stretches for babies, which help with sleep, digestion, bonding and development
  • Breathwork to restore the abdominals and pelvic floor
  • Breathwork to find calm
  • Relaxation to rest and restore
  • Meet other mums
  • You will leave feeling calm and refreshed, as well as knowing you are stronger mentally and physically.

I also offer some discounted places for those in low income households, to help everyone access yoga for birth and beyond more readily. Please get in touch if you or someone you know would benefit.

You will find my classes in Spixworth, Old Catton and at The Yoga Tree in Norwich.

A recent client review:

Both me and my baby love these classes! It is a nice way to spend an hour out of the house, in a safe space, without judgement and freedom for me to move and stretch a bit while baby enjoys songs, play and other activities. Getting together with other mums going through postpartum is also an added perk.
