Hypnobirthing in Norwich
Birthing Preparation and Hypnobirthing in Norwich and Online

Hypnobirthing was a way address and transform my own fears around birth, which led to two amazing births at the MLBU in Norwich, and led me on a course to teaching yoga to pregnant and new mums. It is suitable for all types of birth - not just people that are calm, or home births in a pool. I have worked with many couples and they have used these tools with inductions, in the midwife led unit, delivery suite, C-section and home births.
Hypnobirthing is about using particular tools and techniques so that mum and the birth partner feel absolutely prepared and ready to birth their baby. You will learn how the body and brain works in birthing, self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques and breathing techniques. We also talk through other ways to prepare for birth such as birth preferences and packing your bag so that you are fully prepared. You can also take a look at my blog about Hypnobirthing Myths here.
In a full Hypnobirthing course you and your birth partner receive 10-12 hours of teaching time, either in a group or privately as you choose. As well as the contact time you will also receive
· a downloadable e-book
· 6 MP3s to practise at home
· Scripts of the relaxations
· a copy of the birth preferences.
· Ongoing support from myself
· A goody bag!
I also offer a shorter "Birthing Toolkit" which covers the essentials of hypnobirthing, in 4-5 hours over 2 evenings or one day.
For the birthing toolkit you also get
· a goody bag
· relaxation track
· affirmations track
· 90 minute recap video
· Ongoing support
I recommend starting Hypnobirthing at around 25-35 weeks of pregnancy. Please get in touch for the latest availability and prices.
Client Birth Story
My husband and I also attended a hypnobirthing course with Amber, which gave us both the tools and confidence to approach labour calmly and positively. Having practical strategies to draw upon, and knowing my husband could actively support me throughout, made such a difference during labour and birth.
My birth preference was to give birth in the MLBU with as little intervention as possible. In the end, my waters broke and our daughter didn’t arrive within 24 hours, meaning I gave birth in the delivery suite following an oxytocin induction. I was surrounded by an incredible team of midwives who understood how important the MLBU experience was to me and did everything they could to create a calm, supportive environment that reflected that. I will always be grateful for the exceptional care I received. The techniques and strategies I learned through Yoga with Amber and the hypnobirthing course were invaluable in helping me stay calm, confident, and adaptable when my birth plan changed.
Thank you, Amber, for your incredible support during one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Your guidance helped me approach birth with confidence, flexibility and trust in myself.
